This role sits at the core of a high-growth SaaS platform, where you will design and evolve the cloud infrastructure that powers scalable, secure, and reliable scientific software used globally. Working primarily in AWS and Java-based environments, you will help build and maintain the systems that enable seamless deployments across complex laboratory and data-driven workflows. Your work will directly influence platform performance, operational efficiency, and deployment automation across a rapidly expanding customer base. You will collaborate closely with distributed engineering teams, contributing to a highly visible platform that is central to product delivery. Operating in a fast-paced, scale-up environment, you will solve complex infrastructure challenges while improving system resilience and scalability. This is a hands-on engineering role where your contributions will have a measurable impact on product reliability and customer success.


Accountabilities

In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance cloud infrastructure and deployment systems that support a global SaaS platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across AWS environments.

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure components supporting SaaS deployments.
  • Develop and maintain Java-based services and automation used for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Extend and improve internal platforms for automating deployment workflows across AWS environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues in production systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on code reviews, system design, and technical documentation.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, testing, and validation processes to ensure stable and efficient releases.

Requirements

This role requires strong backend engineering skills combined with hands-on AWS experience and a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong professional experience working with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC).
  • Proficiency in Java development, with hands-on experience in production-grade environments.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure design, networking concepts, and security controls.
  • Experience working in collaborative engineering teams using SDLC and modern development practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver within deadlines.
  • Preferred: experience with Terraform/OpenTofu/Pulumi, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
