Overview

Lexitas reading center provides customized, cutting-edge, reliable, and reproducible image reading and analysis for clinical trials. A central reading center is essential for the conduct of multicenter clinical trials and contributes to the success of studies. A reading center serves to provide standardized, anonymized, and objective grading of study images by trained graders. This produces more accurate and unbiased grading.


Reader Type: Clinician (OD or MD), anterior segment specialist preferred

Role Type: Contract

Anterior segment reads from imaging types (according to assigned study, but not limited to):

  • Slit Lamp Imaging
  • Specular Microscopy (SM)
  • Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography (AS-OCT)


Responsibilities

  • Complete training:
    • Reading Center SOPs
    • Clinical management system training with Reading Center Project Manager or designee
    • Ophthalmic software training with Reading Center Project Manager or designee
    • Clinical Protocol
    • Image Reading Protocol
  • Analyze ophthalmic images and identify/characterize features and pathologies according to reading center protocols  
  • Participate in adjudications with other reader(s), as needed
  • Record data in database eCRF
  • Participate and attend reading center meetings, as needed
  • Adhere to reading center SOPs
  • Adhere to GCP
    • Current GCP training certification required: readers are expected to maintain active GCP training certification
  • Support updates to study documents and drive continuous improvement of processes and methodologies


Skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with technical software and computer processes
  • Effective and efficient with time management
  • Knowledge of clinical trials preferred

Physical Requirements

Position requires: ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about conference or meeting locations as required; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
