This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Chief Technology Officer in the United States.

As Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the organization’s technology strategy and execution, overseeing all aspects of software development, IT operations, architecture, quality assurance, and database management. You will drive innovation, optimize system performance, and ensure that technology initiatives align with strategic goals. This role requires a balance of visionary leadership and hands-on technical expertise, working closely with executive leadership, product teams, and technical staff. You will cultivate a high-performing technology organization, mentor teams, and establish best practices for security, scalability, and operational efficiency. Your impact will extend across multiple product lines, influencing both internal processes and the educational experience of end users.   • Accountabilities
  • Lead the overall technology strategy in alignment with organizational goals and product roadmaps.
  • Oversee all technology operations, including software engineering, IT, development operations, QA, Tier 2 support, and database administration.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, measurement, and continuous improvement within technology teams.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between technology teams, product management, and executive leadership in an Agile development environment.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing, diverse technical teams.
  • Define and enforce policies, safeguards, and processes to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.
  • Evaluate technology effectiveness and implement improvements for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Manage technology procurement, budgeting, and vendor relationships while aligning with organizational needs.
  • Communicate technology strategy and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in information technology or related fields.
  • 10+ years in management and strategic technology planning.
  • 8+ years of experience in the education technology industry, with exposure to other industries beneficial.
  • Proven track record in software architecture, IT infrastructure, and development operations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, off-shore teams, and Agile development processes (Sprints, Scrums, Kanban).
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based solutions, multimedia-rich platforms, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing technical teams.
  • Passion for education and commitment to driving measurable learning outcomes.
  • Technical familiarity with Java, AWS, Ruby on Rails, HTML5, and system security/privacy standards.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field required; MBA or double major in CS and business preferred.
