Position Summary: Terray is currently seeking a motivated, creative, and experienced cheminformatics scientist. As an integral member of our Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) team, the candidate will create tools, databases, and workflows to enable efficient information flows between teams and simplify access to our platform, ensuring data is accessible, interactive, and easy to use. This position will be part of the Molecular Design team and will work collaboratively with several other teams including Medicinal Chemistry, Platform Chemistry, Data Sciences, Machine Learning. 

 The core responsibilities of this position are: 

  • Maintain our library and cheminformatic databases, ensuring data integrity and expanding them to capture new types of data to meet our company’s informatics needs 
  • Building web-based tools that allow scientists from across teams to access and interact with our data 
  • Explore chemical space on and off our platform by developing new tools for enumeration and analysis 
  • Develop tools for molecular generation and data analysis to guide our hit-to-lead and lead optimization efforts

Required Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in cheminformatics, computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry; or degree in software engineering with a background in drug discovery
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and ORMs
  • Proficiency with RDKit and experience with fundamental concepts in cheminformatics (clustering, chemical fingerprints, SMARTS, chemical reactions, etc...)
  • Experience developing web-based tools for chemistry applications (i.e. streamlit, react)
  • Proficiency in Linux environment and experience with version control practices and tools


Compensation Details: $132,000 - $198,000 (annually) depending on seniority; participation in the Company's option plan; 3% retirement safe harbor contribution; fully-paid medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits.
