Basic Function

The incumbent is an internal, external and client facing role that supports Settlement, Finance and Chargebacks in achieving its goals in the management of the Settlement General Ledger accounts and Chargeback Suspense accounts.  Responsibilities include defining business requirements and coordination of complex system development to automate and streamline the identification, reconciliation and clearance of Settlement/Chargeback suspense items to reduce Velera and its client’s liability.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Back Office Operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; can communicate effectively with accounting, technical teams and all levels of management both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess strong analytical abilities, work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the use of Internal Controls, Financial Recordkeeping and Risk Management competencies.
  • Advanced skills using MS Windows, Word, Excel, Monarch, and database software applications required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Settlement Operations strongly preferred.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy are required to perform tasks efficiently in high volume situations with tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task and be flexible as priorities shift.
  • Develops internal and external business processes.  Understand stakeholder environment, prioritizes and refines requirements to meet the needs of the Velera Operations.
  • Provides leadership in the evaluation of proposed solutions.  Ensures testing of all changes where applicable and further assess the deployed solution to ensure the desired results are met.
  • Follows change control and the appropriate change management processes
  • Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Provide support to the accounting team and outside auditing firm in the annual audit.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance through review of procedures and practices and execute process improvements to minimize financial liability.
  • Ability to create presentations and report results to all levels of management Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Four-year Degree or 5-7 years of equivalent accounting/chargeback and or Operations experience.

Experience

  •  5-7 years of equivalent accounting/chargeback and or Operations experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Daily/Monthly KPIs to management
  • Manage and perform the daily reconciliation of chargeback activity.
  • Assist with managing and forecasting workforce requirements based on volume for Accounting/Treasury, and all managerial levels.
  • The individual will provide guidance, advise, and report results to Manager of Chargeback, They will advise and implement chargeback strategies based upon changes in business.
  • Manage, reconcile, analyze, review, compile and create the daily, monthly, and forecast chargeback modeling for Velera’s to ensure that senior management has accurate data to make current and long-term critical business decisions.

Pay Equity

$67,700.00

to

$86,300.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
