This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Category Manager – Collectibles in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of culture, commerce, and category ownership, focusing on building and scaling a high-impact collectibles vertical within a fast-growing marketplace. You will act as the internal and external authority on trading cards, comics, toys, coins, and adjacent enthusiast markets, translating deep cultural expertise into measurable business growth. The position blends strategic category leadership with hands-on execution across supply acquisition, seller partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives. You will shape how collectibles are experienced, discovered, and transacted at scale, directly influencing engagement, GMV, and platform credibility. Working cross-functionally, you will partner with product, marketing, and partnerships teams to build tools, campaigns, and experiences tailored to collector communities. This is a highly visible role where cultural fluency, commercial thinking, and entrepreneurial ownership converge to define a key growth pillar of the business.

Accountabilities

You will own the end-to-end strategy and performance of the collectibles category, driving growth across supply, engagement, and revenue while establishing the operating model for long-term scale. This includes building strong relationships within collector ecosystems and translating market insights into actionable platform strategies:

  • Define and execute the collectibles category growth strategy, including quarterly goals, KPIs, and performance tracking
  • Act as the internal and external expert on collectibles markets, including trading cards, comics, toys, coins, grading systems, and secondary market dynamics
  • Build and manage a high-value supply pipeline by recruiting and onboarding sellers, breakers, dealers, and specialty shops
  • Design and execute culturally relevant campaigns, drops, and marketplace moments aligned with collector behaviors and demand cycles
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap features such as pricing intelligence, grading data, and condition transparency
  • Collaborate across partnerships, marketing, and operations to ensure cohesive category execution and scalable seller experiences
  • Develop frameworks, best practices, and playbooks to support future category expansion and team growth

Requirements

This role requires deep immersion in collectibles ecosystems combined with strong marketplace or category management experience. You should bring both cultural credibility and commercial execution skills, along with the ability to operate in fast-moving, data-driven environments:

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, marketplace growth, partnerships, or related roles within collectibles or enthusiast-driven industries
  • Strong expertise in trading cards, sports cards, comics, toys, coins, or adjacent collector markets, including grading and resale dynamics
  • Proven ability to build and manage seller or partner relationships in niche, community-driven ecosystems
  • Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of pricing, liquidity, margins, and market behavior
  • Experience executing go-to-market strategies and driving measurable category growth outcomes
  • Ability to operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and iterate quickly in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external communities
  • Data-literate mindset with the ability to translate market signals into strategic decisions

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (varies by geography and experience level)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities and equity participation
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Flexible remote-first work environment
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Employee discounts and access to marketplace benefits
  • Opportunities for career growth in a high-visibility, high-impact category leadership role
  • Collaborative, culture-driven environment centered on innovation and community engagement
