New infrastructure requires strong and secure domestic supply chains for minerals and components, as well as large amounts of capital. Connecting to the necessary financing at each stage of a project lifecycle can present challenges for developers and manufacturers, however.

Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the U.S. Our first offering is the leading platform for the large and rapidly growing market of energy and manufacturing tax credits. For the first time, these credits are transferable, creating a powerful new market mechanism to drive abundant clean energy and a strong domestic supply chain. Since its founding in 2023, Crux has facilitated billions of dollars in transferable tax credit transactions. 

Our team of 30+ is composed of experts in energy, financial markets, government, marketplaces, and workflow software. We have raised ~$27 million from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, and others who collectively generate billions of dollars of tax credits annually.

Role Overview

The Capital Markets – Investor Coverage role focuses on expanding Crux’s investor network and building relationships with lenders and equity providers. You will be the bridge between developers and specialized pockets of capital, ensuring that Crux is positioned as a trusted partner for investors seeking clean energy opportunities. This role requires a passion for the clean energy transition, a builder’s mindset, and a commitment to delivering results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You thrive on solving complex problems and working collaboratively across teams to drive meaningful impact.

We are open on leveling for this role, from Sr. Manager to Principal.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain relationships with 100+ investors, including specialty credit funds, family offices, and hedge funds.

  • Ensure 80%+ of prequalified developer transactions have an investable universe.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to investors, providing insights into evolving market dynamics and opportunities.

  • Continuously refine investor buy-boxes and market strategies to meet demand.

  • Support transaction execution, ensuring seamless coordination between developers and investors.

  • Provide expertise in structuring and presenting investment opportunities to align with investor profiles.

  • Gather investor feedback to refine Crux’s capital markets product offerings.

  • Represent Crux at industry conferences, webinars, and in whitepapers to enhance market visibility.

Who You Are

  • Placement agent, syndications, investment banking or investment experience.

  • Strong relationships with lenders and equity investors.

  • Deep understanding of renewable energy transaction structures and market risks.

  • Ability to articulate investment opportunities and risks to diverse investors.

  • Expertise in aligning deal structures with market standards and investor appetite.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure and energy transition debt within broader asset allocation strategies.

  • Skilled in crafting and executing tailored go-to-market strategies.

  • Fully remote in US or Canada with opportunities to co-work in SF, Seattle, DC, or NYC.

  • Compensation: Equity in the form of Series A stock options. Base salary range between $140,000 - $200,000 with bonus potential across team, individual, and company of 50-75%. Full health benefits, 20 days PTO, 10 company holidays, fully remote with co-working options in NYC, SF, DC, Seattle, LA, and Denver.
