This is a high-impact, strategic role offering direct visibility into key financial decisions, contract structures, and global financial operations.

The Revenue Accounting Manager will lead our global revenue recognition process, ensuring full compliance with ASC 606, and supporting cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, is detail-oriented, and has a strong grasp of the technical accounting and operational needs of SaaS revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition & Compliance

  • Manage end-to-end revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • Evaluate complex contracts, including usage-based SaaS subscriptions, bundled offerings, and variable pricing, for revenue implications.
  • Own the accounting and treatment of deferred revenue, commissions (ASC 340-40), and contract modifications.
  • Monitor changes in accounting guidance and advise leadership on potential impacts.

Billing & Sales Tax Oversight

  • Oversee global invoicing operations across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Lead sales tax compliance initiatives, including automation using tools like Avalara.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, and cash application.

Month-End Close & Audit Readiness

  • Lead the monthly close process for revenue, including reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and internal controls to support SOC 1, SOX, and external audits.
  • Draft and maintain technical accounting memos to support revenue conclusions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for external auditors and internal stakeholders.

Process Optimization & Systems Leadership

  • Drive automation and scalability through tools like NetSuite, Tabs, Salesforce, and other ERP/CPQ integrations.
  • Identify and lead improvements in revenue accounting operations, reporting, and forecasting in partnership with FP&A.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Advise Sales, Legal, and Strategic Finance during contract negotiations to align revenue policies and strategic goals.
  • Support revenue forecasting and analysis with data-driven insights for senior leadership.
  • Mentor and potentially build a team of revenue accountants as the business scales.

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Big 4 or public accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, ideally in a SaaS, analytics, or cloud-native environment.
  • Proven experience applying ASC 606 to complex revenue scenarios.
  • Familiarity with global billing operations and multi-entity structures.
  • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and experience with tools like Avalara.
  • Proficient with Stripe, Salesforce, NetSuite, or other ERP/billing platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or participating in system/process implementations (e.g., ERP, RevOps platforms).
  • Exceptional communicator with a proactive, collaborative, and detail-focused approach.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Active CPA license or candidate (testing scheduled or on-track).
  • Exposure to PE-backed environments and international operations.
  • Experience managing or working with offshore teams.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and team development.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong ability to execute in a hands-on environment.
