Department Overview

The Business Operations (Biz Ops) department at Sonar serves as a critical link between strategy and execution, ensuring that our processes, systems, and goals are aligned to drive growth and efficiency. BizOps teams analyze data, optimize internal workflows, support strategic planning, and facilitate cross-functional initiatives to improve overall business performance. We partner closely with leadership, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Client Relations, Client Services, and Product & Engineering teams to identify opportunities, solve operational challenges, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Operations Intern to join our dynamic team for a full-time, remote summer internship. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our contract management workflows across multiple business teams.

Your primary responsibilities will include uploading and analyzing contracts within Salesforce, and collaborating to develop a cutting-edge AI-powered bot designed to analyze contracts and provide instant answers on demand. This internship will culminate in a high-visibility presentation to our executive leadership team, offering an exceptional opportunity to make an immediate and significant impact on our operations.

The target length of this internship is 8-12 weeks.

This is a paid internship with a competitive hourly rate based on the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities

• Upload, organize, and analyze PDF contracts within Salesforce.
• Assist in designing, building, and refining a custom AI-driven bot to efficiently analyze contracts and answer user queries in real-time.
• Document and map the improved contracts workflow, clearly outlining efficiencies and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Client Relations, and Finance, to identify areas for operational improvement.
• Prepare and deliver a final presentation summarizing your project's impact and findings to senior executives.

Qualifications

• Current college junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Experience or coursework in Python, JavaScript, Salesforce, SQL, Excel, or data analysis considered highly desirable.
• Previous experience in consulting, research projects, or analytical roles is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and deliver outcomes remotely.
• Highly self-motivated, coachable, and able to think critically to solve complex operational problems.

• Comprehensive documentation and analysis of the optimized contracts workflow.
• Complete upload and organization of contracts within Salesforce.
• A fully operational prototype of the AI contract-analysis bot.
