This leadership role drives the development, delivery, and optimization of business intelligence solutions across the organization. You will translate complex data into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and analytics, supporting strategic decision-making at all levels. The position combines deep technical expertise in BI tools with strong stakeholder management, mentoring, and project leadership responsibilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business objectives. This role operates in a dynamic, collaborative environment, influencing both technology strategy and business outcomes. The Business Intelligence Developer Lead also provides guidance to junior developers, fostering skill development and best practices across the BI team.


Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Consult with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Independently manage multiple projects, providing time and effort estimates, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality and reliable data outputs.
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive, self-service dashboards with effective visualizations and insights.
  • Mentor junior BI developers through code reviews, training, and guidance on BI tools, reporting standards, and project best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment across data sources, reporting platforms, and analytics initiatives.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and dashboards to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Participate in strategic departmental initiatives, advisory groups, and industry forums as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for complex query development and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Tableau and other BI/reporting tools such as Business Objects (BOE).
  • Experience with GitHub or similar code repository platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or health plan data is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and project timelines independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred; familiarity with Epic, Facets, Cohere, or OnBase is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant higher education or certifications a plus.
