Position Overview:

The role of Business Development Representative for Moreland University is to seek, engage and support the acquition of new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. To be successful, this role will develop leads from direct outreach, marketing campaigns, and meet business development and growth quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with prospects, customers, from first contact until you close the deal which could include signing a partnership with a school district and or nurturing a prospective candidate to apply to Moreland University. You will also ensure proper customer service to sustain enrollment growth. The right candidate is motivated and results-driven, enjoys working in a team environment, and for a mission-driven organization to help teachers. Ultimately, this role is focused on increasing enrollments and contributes to our long-term business growth, while reporting directly to the People Leader of the BDR team.


What You'll Do
  • Generate business development Qualified Leads through direct outreach via email, phone calls, and social channels to contact and open doors at Education Organizations to solicit interest in Moreland’s offerings
  • Qualify both B2C and B2B leads from marketing campaigns as business development and enrollment growth opportunities
  • Contact potential schools and staffing agencies through cold calls, emails, preliminary Zoom meetings, and present Moreland and our offerings to potential partners
  • Identify school and staffing agency needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Set up the customer to meet with a member of Moreland’s business development team when at the right stage of the business development funnel
  • Manage full lifecycle activities with Small EDU organizations through to partnership, translating to enrollments
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with customers
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) schools or staffing agencies and the right members of the business development team at Moreland while potentially handling those meetings themselves based on size/shape of organization
  • Stay current with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
  • Be excited to meet monthly and quarterly targets to grow enrollments


What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in inside sales, admissions, customer services, higher education, or related roles
  • Articulate and friendly speaker and writer to communicate with prospective candidates on the phone, online, and via email
  • High quality use of written communications relevant to grammar, conventions, logical flow, and word choice
  • Strong technology skills in Microsoft Office 365 tools and online communication tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • Inside business development experience and knowledge along with proven track record of being hungry to hit business development targets
