About the role...


The Business Development Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Business Development, plays a key role in Mspark's marketing team, focusing on event marketing, content creation, account-based marketing (ABM) and lead generation strategies. This role supports go-to-market strategies, improves marketing effectiveness, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure streamlined processes and alignment with business objectives.


What you'll do...


1)      Event Marketing & Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute lead generation and other marketing-oriented events, including trade shows and conferences.
  • Build an inclusive strategy across Sales, Marketing, Creative, Finance, and Sales Ops to drive revenue growth in key verticals and company strategies.
  • Own cross-functional project management for all assigned tasks and stakeholders.
  • Manage logistics such as registrations, travel arrangements, marketing materials, shipments, and on-site booth setup and engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate event promotion via emails, social media, ads, sponsorships, and web.
  • Develop and track KPIs, analyze event performance, and optimize future activations.

2)      Content Marketing & ABM:

  • Create content for Mspark’s website, social media (LinkedIn), email (Mail Chimp), go-to-market collateral, thought leadership, and general company communication.
  • Contribute to the development of a library of 1:many sales support materials, client-facing collateral, and training resources.
  • Apply data-driven insights to enhance marketing strategies and drive business growth.
  • Ensure cross-team communication and alignment on marketing initiatives.

3)      Lead Generation Stewardship:

  • Manage event and inbound lead-to-sales process of MQLs including lead imports, fielding inbound lead web forms, CRM tracking, optimization of qualifying criteria, and coordinating hand-offs/follow-up with Sales.
  • Source and qualify new leads or existing brands/clients for key initiatives such as CRM research, development of target lists, Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs), contact information augmentation, and otherwise.
  • Work with Sales Ops and Finance to contribute to the creation of a business insights reports, that also highlights Marketing's impact on revenue pacing and year over year growth, including a view by categories, products, events and our SaaS solution.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Sales Operations to define, track, and bolster accountability around CRM expectations and adoption.

4)      SaaS and Key Account Business Development Support

  • Assist in pre-sale strategy development for SaaS clients, key accounts & prospects.
  • Support ABM initiatives by developing playbooks and executing lead generation e-mail and other ABM marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure cross-team communication and alignment on initiatives.

  • Marketing – Maintain consistent partnership & communication around upcoming key initiatives and develop alignment around responsibilities, engagement, and communication.
  • Finance & Sales Strategy - establish KPIs and contribute to the creation of business insights reports that highlight Marketing's impact on revenue pacing and YoY growth, including across categories, products, events and SaaS, for multifunctional sales and marketing strategies.
  • Sales - Drive positive engagement to enhance cross-functional partnership, CRM compliance, and revenue success against our lead acquisition and pipeline acceleration strategies.
  • Product – Become adept at Mspark product knowledge to make strategic decisions for core responsibilities.
  • Customer Experience – Ensure alignment with high-level CX strategy to ensure consistency with each touchpoint across the customer journey.
  • External - Manage external vendors, including website/martech and event partners.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in event marketing management or support. 7+ years of experience in partnership marketing, business development, content development or sales strategy roles.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365, including but not limited to general utilization, data integrity best practices, and lead tracking processes and naming conventions.
  • Strong project management skills with experience using Monday.com or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship-building, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Office, and marketing automation tools.


Additional Details:

  • This is a full-time, fully remote position with essential travel required for meetings, events, and partner engagements.
