Zenysis is seeking a Business Development Consultant to work on anticipated funding proposal opportunities for multiple country teams, applying best practices for proposal development with a variety of donors supporting Zenysis teams in Rwanda, Ethiopia and possibly one other country between January and March 2025.
The consultant will leverage global health donor research and experience to support donor and partner engagement planning, proposal development and business development operational support, promoting Zenysis’s brand, technology and services. This position will lead and/or support 5-7 bi-lateral proposal submissions, including higher value proposals and proposals with complex donor or partner arrangements for at least two countries.
This is a midlevel position requiring candidates that have experience as Proposal Managers or experience in a similiar role working on donor funded (USAID, GAVI, Global Fund, BMGF, etc) proposals.
Scope of Work- Provide support for 5-7 active proposals, serving as lead proposal manager or a support staff.
- Disseminate procurements, facilitate bid decisions, draft an outline for the technical narrative, organize an overall proposal timeline, coordinate with external partners, coordinate deliverables and meetings with agendas that are output driven, drive teams to meet deadlines and facilitate review and editing/formatting and overseeing or delegating submission.
- Provide regular updates to Growth Associate to keep CRM data updated on all proposal opportunities engaged in.
- Provide support to individual proposal efforts by drafting capes statements, conducting literature review, writing cover letters or other writing efforts in coordination with the lead writer and proposal manager.
- Investigate proposal folders for 2024 proposals and draft/present guidance for Growth team to improve knowledge management related to proposal filing structure so that teams can access other related proposal content.
- Monitor use of guidance and make recommendations to improve KM systems for Growth at Zenysis.
Key Deliverables- Lead and/or support coordination as the proposal manager for 5-7 anticipated bi-lateral proposals, working across departments at Zenysis, across the proposal life cycle (from capture to submission).
- Support specific research and guidance development and implementation of knowledge management and operational tools to improve Growth efforts for Zenysis, including filing convention for all submitted bids in 2024 and monitor its use.
- Participate in weekly country calls with specific country teams to generate trust and advocate for country needs in proposal efforts.
- Provide writing support in drafting cover letters, annexes and capacity statements, in coordination with the lead writer.
Project Timeline- January 2025: Short orientation on Zenysis, proposal development tools and guidance and introduction to Ethiopia and Rwanda teams as well as key staff from Delivery and Finance/Ops team that actively work on growth. Working with the Chief of Growth, lead and/or support at least 1-2 proposal efforts.
- January - March 2025 Lead and/or support 4-5 proposal efforts in multiple countries, weekly meetings with two country teams to assess and plan for Growth activities and weekly check ins with Chief of Growth to address questions, problem solve, etc.
- March 2025: Transition proposal activities to Sr Growth Manager in a phased manner and research, write guidance and monitor roll out of a new KM structure for proposals folders within Growth.
