Control Risks is looking for a Business Continuity Specialist to support one of our premier clients. This position will help implement a world-class business continuity program. Specifically, this role will develop, facilitate, and debrief disaster exercises as well as conduct business impact analysis and creating relevant documentation. It will also support the development and maintenance of program processes and procedures. With guidance from management, this role will partner with essential business functions to uncover opportunities for strategic enhancement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with developing, maintaining, or implementation of resiliency solutions, including business continuity plans, business impact analysis, and documentation of procedures.
- Help plan, facilitate, observe, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies.
- Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Partner with critical business functions to identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of interruptions and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
- Contribute to establish and maintain program processes and practices which effectively ensure that the business resilience program remains current and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as appropriate.
- Prepare reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Participate in support of various other initiatives and ad-hoc projects to enhance business resilience.
Requirements
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree with operational experience.
- 2 to 4 years of exposure in the business continuity or risk management industry.
- Understanding of BCM governance frameworks, with strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, and operational risk management.
- A strong understanding of operational risk and resilience, business process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COSO and ISO).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation and reporting.
The base salary for this position in California or NYC is $85,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162 and the NYC Wage Transparency Law.
