Location

This is a remote position, open to candidates located anywhere, but candidates must be able to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours. Applicants must have native-level proficiency in English.


About the role

Our company is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team who thrives in a dynamic environment. The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The successful candidate will work closely with our accounting team and VP of Finance to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance. The bookkeeper should be highly organized and detail-oriented, possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and have a strong knowledge of accounting principles. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a mass tort marketing company or a marketing company.


What you'll do

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Record adjusting journal entries when needed 
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, documented, and filed
  • Collaborate with accounting team to create and analyze financial reports
  • Assist with audits and tax filings
  • Maintain knowledge of current accounting and bookkeeping practices and legislation

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Fundamental understanding of expenses and liabilities and how they translate to chart of accounts 
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
