This role provides end-to-end management of U.S. employee benefits programs while supporting global benefits initiatives. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, brokers, and vendors, ensuring accurate, compliant, and employee-focused delivery of health, welfare, retirement, leave, and wellness programs. Operating in a remote-friendly and collaborative environment, you will oversee enrollment, open enrollment, life events, and retirement plan administration, including 401(k) management and audits. This position requires balancing operational excellence with strategic insights to optimize benefits utilization and enhance employee experience. You will work closely with payroll, finance, and HR teams to maintain data integrity and support reporting. The role combines hands-on benefits administration with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and total rewards strategy.
Accountabilities- Manage the full lifecycle of U.S. employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, retirement plans, leaves of absence, and other perks.
- Lead and coordinate annual open enrollment and global benefits enrollment activities, including system configuration, vendor management, and employee communications.
- Administer the U.S. 401(k) program, including enrollments, contribution changes, loans, distributions, and annual audits.
- Ensure accurate benefits data in HRIS systems, perform regular audits, and provide reporting and analysis to HR leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related questions from employees and managers, resolving inquiries and providing guidance on plan provisions and claims.
- Support compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA.
- Partner with brokers, carriers, payroll, and finance teams to maintain accurate deductions, contributions, reconciliations, and records.
- Research and recommend competitive benefits programs to enhance employee experience and support total rewards strategy.
- Develop clear, employee-friendly communications and documentation regarding benefits programs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years focused on U.S. benefits administration.
- Direct experience managing U.S. 401(k) retirement programs, including annual audits.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support employees across diverse locations and time zones.
- Analytical, solution-oriented, and capable of handling complex benefits administration in a remote and fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting global benefits programs is a plus but not required.
