Salary: $80,000 - 110,000/year
This position is fully remote / work from home, but candidates must live in and be bar admitted in NC.
The Personal Injury Attorney will manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate has strong litigation and negotiation skills, a client-centered mindset, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role includes significant client contact, case strategy development, and courtroom appearances as needed.
Responsibilities- Handle all aspects of personal injury cases, including case evaluation, legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Communicate regularly and compassionately with clients regarding case status, medical treatment, and legal strategy.
- Conduct negotiations with insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and third parties to achieve favorable settlements.
- Represent clients in mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials in North Carolina state courts.
- Supervise and collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure timely and effective case progress.
- Develop case strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and file management in accordance with firm procedures and ethical standards.
- Participate in marketing, community outreach, or referral-building efforts as needed.
Requirements- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina (in good standing).
- 2+ years of experience in personal injury, civil litigation, or insurance defense preferred (newer attorneys with strong interest in PI will be considered).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Empathetic and client-focused approach, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Trial experience or strong desire to develop courtroom experience a plus.
