This is a strategic market access leadership role focused on shaping reimbursement, coding, and health policy frameworks that ensure sustainable patient access to innovative MedTech therapies. The Associate Director will operate at the intersection of policy, clinical evidence, and commercialization, translating complex U.S. payer systems into actionable strategies that support long-term product adoption. This role plays a key part in influencing reimbursement pathways across inpatient, outpatient, physician, and clinical trial settings. Working in a highly matrixed environment, the position partners closely with medical affairs, health economics, field reimbursement, and commercial teams. The role also engages externally with policy stakeholders, payer organizations, and physician societies to support coding and coverage initiatives. It is a high-impact opportunity for a market access expert who thrives in complex healthcare systems and strategic cross-functional collaboration.
Accountabilities:- Develop and execute U.S. reimbursement, coding, and health policy strategies supporting access to advanced MedTech therapies.
- Manage reimbursement pathways across inpatient, outpatient, physician, and clinical trial environments to ensure optimal coverage and payment outcomes.
- Interpret CMS, MAC, and commercial payer policies to guide long-term market access strategy and risk mitigation.
- Analyze claims, payer, and reimbursement data to assess policy impact and identify optimization opportunities.
- Translate clinical, economic, and health outcomes evidence into compelling reimbursement and access narratives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders across medical affairs, regulatory, marketing, and commercial functions.
- Engage with external stakeholders including physician societies, coding organizations, and policy groups to support advocacy efforts.
- Partner with field reimbursement teams to ensure consistent execution of reimbursement guidance and strategy.
- Contribute to cross-functional decision-making regarding market access, pricing, and evidence generation strategies.
- Support compliance, governance, and alignment of reimbursement strategies within a highly regulated environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, health economics, health policy, or related field required; advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, MS) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in MedTech, healthcare reimbursement, or health policy roles.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. payer landscape, including CMS inpatient, outpatient, and physician reimbursement systems.
- Experience working with healthcare claims data, billing systems, and payer policy analysis.
- Proven ability to operate in complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional influence.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory and reimbursement frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify technical and policy concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as regulators, payer groups, or medical societies is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, influence, and stakeholder management capabilities.
