This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Global Program Management based in the United States.

This is a unique opportunity to play a strategic leadership role in advancing innovative therapies through the full drug development lifecycle. The position sits at the intersection of science, operations, and business strategy, partnering with cross-functional global teams to drive complex development programs from planning through execution. You will be responsible for shaping program strategies, facilitating high-level decision-making, and ensuring alignment across multiple stakeholders and governance bodies. Working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, you will help optimize processes, mitigate risks, and accelerate the delivery of life-changing treatments to patients worldwide. This role is ideal for an experienced program management professional who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about making a meaningful impact in healthcare and oncology innovation.


Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee global drug development programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and key milestones across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated program plans and schedules, identifying dependencies, critical paths, and potential risks.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by coordinating program meetings, preparing agendas, documenting decisions, and tracking action items.
  • Partner with scientific, clinical, and business leaders to translate complex information into strategic presentations and executive-level communications.
  • Drive effective decision-making by proactively identifying issues, resolving conflicts, and escalating critical risks when necessary.
  • Support budget planning and tracking activities, highlighting financial impacts and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Lead planning workshops and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance program management processes, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Provide program management expertise to core and sub-teams, while mentoring stakeholders and supporting organizational best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in clinical and drug development within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, or a Master's degree (or higher) with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of global drug development processes, lifecycle management, and cross-functional program execution.
  • Proven experience leading complex, matrixed teams and managing multiple stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, risk management, milestone tracking, and governance processes.
  • Ability to transform detailed scientific and technical information into strategic business insights and executive presentations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project management tools.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credentials are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support global program activities.
