This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Assistant Controller in the United States.

This role offers a high-impact opportunity to support a rapidly growing, content-driven organization within its finance leadership team. Acting as a key partner to the Controller and CFO, you will help strengthen accounting operations, improve financial processes, and support scalable growth. You will oversee critical accounting functions including month-end close, reporting accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards. You will also contribute to the development of financial systems, automation initiatives, and operational improvements. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams while helping shape the future of the finance function. Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization while helping build scalable financial processes.

  • Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to support strong execution.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review account reconciliations and financial analyses prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including capital and operational planning.
  • Improve accounting processes and implement automation to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements, incorporating updates as needed.
  • Assist in developing financial and operational reporting to support leadership decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, finance teams, and cross-functional partners to provide insights and financial analysis.

Requirements

This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including prior team leadership responsibilities.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1) is a plus.
  • Background in distribution or publishing industries is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and accountable mindset.
