Application Security Engineer I, Cybersecurity

The Application Security Engineer I supports the cybersecurity team by helping identify, analyze, and address application vulnerabilities while developing practical experience with security processes and tools. • Assist with reviewing source code and identifying opportunities to improve secure coding practices.
• Use application security tools, including SAST, DAST, and SCA solutions, to identify potential vulnerabilities under guidance.
• Validate security findings, document results, and help maintain accurate vulnerability records.
• Track security issues through ticketing systems and support remediation workflows.
• Contribute to secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) initiatives and CI/CD security integrations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams on basic security automation activities.
• Participate in security reviews, including secure code and design assessments, while continuing to build expertise.
• Create reports and summaries that communicate security findings clearly.
• Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives and internal training efforts.
