The Application Analyst role requires technical expertise, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and excellent communication to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions effectively. Serves as a technical point-of-contact and works with assigned subject matter expert (SME) and/or the People Operations team to improve Workday and other enterprise applications business processes workflows. Manages data & system integration with Workday and/or enterprise applications to support data sharing with internal and external business partners. Acts as the liaison among the stakeholders to analyze, document, communicate, and validate business requirements regarding Workday and other enterprise applications. Optimizes application functionality, ensures data integrity and security, useful reports and analyze data flows to capitalize functional use of Workday and enterprise applications.
Description
- Performer in Workday configuration and testing support, Primary liaison between technology and Workday operations.
- Optimizing Workday business processes, integrating new software, and performing diagnostic tests. Keeping track of technological advancement and trends in Workday.
- Oversee enterprise interfaces, establish procedures for assessing and integrating new interfaces, and consistently enhance the efficiency of existing links between internal and external software, hardware, and communication systems to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Review existing processes to identify end-to-end improvement opportunities.
- Monitoring the state of critical transactions, integrations, and operational jobs.
- Consults with stakeholders on upstream and downstream impacts when there are changes; can identify potential impacts to people, processes, and technology.
- Implement business process automation that propels the business forward by reducing costs and increasing revenue at PM Pediatrics.
- Consults with managers and other departments to determine POIS needs.
- Conduct data analysis and discovery to identify trends and correlations to uncover insights. Recommend information that should be analyzed based on key indicators, works to determine root cause, and/or identify areas of concern.
- Guide project discovery with relevant stakeholders to define business requirements.
- Utilize process analysis/design expertise to design new or reengineer existing processes to implement new or changed procedures, eliminate duplicate effort, reduce errors, and increase efficiency and effectiveness; ensure seamless integration.
- Document and analyze current and proposed future state workflows to identify areas for improvement through process mapping.
- Partners with business leaders and subject matter experts (SME’s) to diagram existing business processes to varying and appropriate levels of detail.
- Partners with business leaders and SME’s for user acceptance testing to ensure requirements are met.
- Creates convincing problem statements using data and stories that accurately represent the impact of business process changes.
- Use Workday Community to troubleshoot and identify ways to better utilize the system.
- Special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology or Data Analytics with an emphasis in healthcare, information systems or related field required.
- Three (3) years of Workday with hands on experience using Workday Studio, preferred.
- Workday certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience in process/system implementation, providing data integration and translations to support core operations.
- Experience using databases in a business environment with complex data sets and the ability to present information in a precise method. Strong experience in the areas of analytics, process mapping, and solution-based practices is preferred.
- Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, including querying, designing, and optimizing databases, is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, Groovy, PowerShell, or Bash for task automation and integration.
- Hands-on experience working with APIs (REST).
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential in this role.
- Experience with business process automation tools.
- Working knowledge of EHR clinical and financial systems.
- Ability to understand data structure and collaborate with non-technical staff to analyze needs and communicate system capabilities and recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate information to technical and non-technical staff.
- Able to concisely communicate problem areas and solution recommendations to varying levels of stakeholders, from front-line workers to executive management.
- Experience with visual modeling, process mapping, value stream mapping, and process improvement. Using tools such as Visio or Lucidchart is a plus.
- Ability to work against tight timelines; Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong orientation to detail with the ability to project manage multiple high-visibility projects concurrently.
- Ability to develop and articulate written business definitions and documents.
