This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an API Systems Application Software Developer in United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and maintain complex software applications that support critical mission objectives. The API Systems Application Software Developer will be responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while working with WebMethods, API Gateway, API Portal, and API Catalog. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration, performance, and compliance across enterprise systems. This position requires both hands-on technical expertise and strategic problem-solving skills, contributing to projects that have a direct impact on operational success. The role combines independent development work with collaborative design sessions, offering opportunities to expand technical leadership while working in a government-focused environment.


Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level software applications.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that meet business and mission requirements.
  • Administer and develop within WebMethods, SoftwareAG API Gateway, API Portal, and API Catalog.
  • Support integration with middleware, XML Gateway, and web services, including RPC, SOAP, JAX-RS, and JMS.
  • Participate in schema design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of application servers and XML Gateways.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with security and governance policies for software and API deployments.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with 5-7 years in complex enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on expertise with WebMethods, API Gateway, API Portal, and API Catalog.
  • Strong experience with web services, service discovery protocols, messaging protocols, and schema design.
  • Familiarity with XML Gateway, middleware, and cloud environments preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • U.S. citizenship and active Public Trust/MBI clearance, or ability to obtain one.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
