About the Role

At Lean TECHniques, we’re passionate about helping companies build better software and stronger teams. We’re looking for a hands-on AI Engineer II to join our growing team and design intelligent, scalable solutions on the Azure platform.

You’ll work across data engineering, NLP, and machine learning deployment to make unstructured data—like emails, images, and PDFs—searchable, insightful, and actionable. You’ll also bring a software engineering mindset to AI system design, supporting our clients with high-quality, maintainable, and secure solutions.

If you enjoy working across disciplines, collaborating with others to solve challenging problems, and continuously growing your skills, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions using Azure services: Data Factory, Databricks, Cognitive Services, AI Search, and Azure ML.

  • Develop NLP pipelines to extract insights from unstructured text, leveraging tools like Azure Cognitive Services (Text Analytics, Form Recognizer).

  • Build, test, and deploy scalable inference APIs using Azure Functions or AKS, integrated with internal tools and workflows

  • Apply software engineering best practices, including test-driven development, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and secure AI systems.

  • Engage with clients to understand requirements, deliver on expectations, and communicate progress clearly and professionally.

  • Work with other engineers to promote a culture of knowledge-sharing, feedback, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python for data preparation, machine learning, and deployment.

  • Experience with Azure services: Data Factory, Databricks, AI Search, Cognitive Services, Azure ML, Azure Functions (AKS a plus).

  • Solid understanding of NLP concepts: entity recognition, text classification, document summarization, etc.

  • Knowledge of software engineering practices such as TDD, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and API design.

  • Comfortable working semi-independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience deploying machine learning models to production environments as scalable APIs.

  • Familiarity with tools like R, KQL, or Scala.

  • Experience designing pipelines that handle unstructured data at scale.

  • Ensure ongoing quality with LLM system by implementing and monitoring guardrails, evaluations, and adversarial networks

  • Prior consulting experience or work in collaborative, high-trust team environments.

What Success Looks Like

  • You meet or exceed expectations on project deliverables and actively contribute to resolving blockers.

  • You show a strong sense of ownership and demonstrate quality in your work through regular feedback loops and team reviews.

  • You help others grow through knowledge sharing, pairing, and mentorship.

  • You stay current with industry trends and continuously seek opportunities to learn and lead.

  • You actively participate in internal workshops, community discussions, or trainings.

What We Offer

  • A flexible environment.

  • Opportunities to work on meaningful, challenging projects with modern technologies.

  • A collaborative and supportive team committed to growth and excellence.

  • Access to professional development, certification support, and industry events.

A culture rooted in trust, humility, and delivering extraordinary results.
