About the role 

As an Aftermarket Sales Specialist, you will play a key role in driving growth across our Aftermarket portfolio in North America, including service contracts, accessories, consumables, upgrades, and training products. You will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service, and achieving sales targets through accurate forecasting, effective communication, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Sales Growth: Drive sales of service contracts, consumables, training, upgrades, and accessories to exceed targets within the assigned territory. 

  • Customer Relationships: Cultivate and expand customer relationships to increase spend across Malvern Panalytical products and improve overall customer loyalty (NPS). 

  • Customer Engagement: Engage customers through phone, email, virtual tools, and occasional on-site visits to key accounts. Ability to articulate the value of company products and upsell.  

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with account managers, customer support leaders, and application specialists to identify opportunities and improve performance in assigned territory and uncover revenue synergies 

  • Quoting & Support: Quote products and services following established processes and procedures within the team and organization as a whole.  

  • Marketing Support: Contribute to the development and execution of marketing plans and initiatives that drive growth and profitability. 

  • Reporting & Forecasting: Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of orders and sales results, implementing corrective actions when necessary. 

  • Process Improvement: Assist with standardizing sales procedures to improve efficiency in service contract sales. 

  • Customer Advocacy: Provide feedback on customer concerns and ensure timely resolution to maximize satisfaction and loyalty. 

 

Impact: 

  • Drive growth in warranty conversions, SLA renewals, and overall aftermarket contribution. 

  • Maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring high-quality service delivery. 

  • Support the Americas strategy while contributing to Malvern Panalytical’s global growth objectives. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a related role, ideally in sales or customer support within scientific instrumentation (chromatography, spectroscopy, light scattering, microscopy, chemical imaging, rheology, or medical devices). 

  • Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of an ERP/CRM system, preferably Salesforce, is required; SAP knowledge is a plus. 

  • Skills: Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, excellent communication (written & verbal), and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to interpret data and make judgments for optimal outcomes.  

  • Languages: Fluency in English required; French is a plus.
