Actuary - Primary Care Organization

As an Actuary supporting a primary care organization, you will provide actuarial analytics, forecasting, and business intelligence expertise to guide strategic and operational decisions. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of actuarial data while partnering with stakeholders to identify trends, solve challenges, and improve financial outcomes.

• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand priorities, translate business needs into actuarial analysis, and provide actionable insights.
• Analyze medical claims trends, utilization patterns, cost drivers, and financial performance indicators to support business strategies.
• Develop and maintain data quality processes, controls, and reporting practices to ensure accurate and consistent actuarial analysis.
• Investigate data discrepancies, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend solutions to improve business intelligence capabilities.
• Build financial forecasts and analyze economic, industry, and market trends to support short-, medium-, and long-term planning.
• Apply actuarial models and technical expertise to evaluate financial performance, competitive positioning, pricing, reserving, and trend analysis.
• Provide strategic recommendations and present actuarial findings to executives and key stakeholders.
• Establish performance metrics and deliver reporting that supports forecasting, business planning, and operational improvements.
• Independently manage complex actuarial challenges by evaluating variables, risks, and potential courses of action.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong actuarial expertise, healthcare analytics experience, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to business stakeholders. You should be comfortable working independently while applying technical skills to solve sophisticated financial and operational challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the United States.
• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with relevant professional experience.
• Experience working as an actuary in healthcare insurance areas such as Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or commercial insurance.
• Experience across multiple actuarial functions, including modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting and analysis, reserving, or trending.
• Demonstrated ability to perform actuarial analysis, interpret complex datasets, and develop business recommendations.
• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to leadership and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with healthcare actuarial analytics, medical claims analysis, forecasting, or business intelligence is preferred.
• Familiarity with analytics and database tools such as SAS, SQL, Snowflake, or similar technologies is preferred.
• Experience documenting actuarial analyses in accordance with professional standards, including ASOP 41, is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely with a dedicated workspace and reliable high-speed internet connection.
