Clubessential is seeking an experienced Accounting Software Support Specialist with a strong accounting background to join our client support team. This individual will play a key role in assisting the private club industry, including Controllers, CFOs, and accounting staff, by providing both technical and consultative support related to our club management systems. 

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience working within the country club or hospitality industry, strong accounting and financial reporting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively while troubleshooting support tickets and phone inquiries. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients requiring assistance with accounting-related features within our software platform. 
  • Consult with Controllers and Accounting Teams in the club industry to guide them on best practices for financial workflows, reconciliations, and reporting. 
  • Field inbound support calls and respond to support tickets in a professional, timely manner. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to general ledger mapping, accounts receivable, payables, membership billing, and financial integrations. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments including Product, Development, and Implementation to identify and resolve client issues. 
  • Document and escalate recurring issues or enhancement opportunities to improve client experience. 
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Clubessential products and accounting standards within the private club industry. 
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and user documentation related to accounting processes. 
  • Act as a resource for the team, offering accounting expertise and support when needed. 
  • Maintain a proactive mindset toward issue prevention, trend analysis, and client education. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA or CMA a plus) 
  • 4+ years of accounting or controller-level experience, preferably within the country club or hospitality industry. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients. 
  • Experience using or supporting club management systems, ERP platforms, or accounting software (e.g., Clubessential, Jonas, Northstar, Quickbooks or similar). 
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. 
  • Experience using SQL to write, extract and update data when required  
  • Proficient in basic software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web-based tools. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment.
