Title:                            Accounting Analyst

Reports To:                  Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Analyst, your essential job functions will include the following:

  • Assist Accounting Manager in management of Accounting Operations projects and participate on cross functional teams in support of Sales, Logistics, Program Management and other functional areas as assigned
  • Work collaboratively to define and create process flows, project requirements and testing needs to surpass customer expectations and company goals
  • Research, analyze and recommend resolutions to variances between the Sub Ledger and General Ledger
  • Identify accounts receivable and sales issues
  • Utilize OBIEE reporting tool and JDE to analyze large volumes of data to identify trends and source of issue
  • Propose solutions or take necessary actions to correct
  • Provide support as needed to Accounting teams with efficiency initiatives and troubleshooting
  • Assist in JDE/OBIEE testing of new initiatives/efficiencies
  • Complete internal and external audit requests as assigned
  • Provide backup functionality for Accounting Manager
  • Communicate in a professional manner with customers and employees
  • Support the monthly financial close process by:
  • Assure timely/accurate financial statement preparation consistent with U.S. GAAP and company policies & procedures
  • Create/Monitor/Post accruals and journal entries, reconcile accounts and perform ad hoc analysis
  • Participate in/Lead physical inventory audits

Reporting

  • Complete monthly assigned account reconciliations within specified closing schedule
  • Prepare and assess monthly aging and reports
  • Prepare and analyze pertinent schedules required for audits

Initiate and Implement Process Improvements

  • Document new accounting practices/procedures through use of flow charts and narrative process documentation
  • Review accounting practices/procedures and make recommendations for improvements within the department
  • Evaluate current system applications and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Review and test internal controls to ensure SOX compliance

Other Duties as Assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience in Accounting
  • Experience in a high-volume transactional processing environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience using OBIEE tool or other similar business intelligence tool
  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to achieve goals independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The total compensation package may also include commission, bonus or profit sharing. Base Pay Range:

$58,500 - $70,000
