Accountant (with Real Estate experience)

This role is designed for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in property management or real estate. The Accountant will support accounts payable, transaction coding, and financial reporting while contributing insights to enhance AI-driven property accounting tools. Working remotely, the position combines technical accounting skills with data analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. • Manage accounts payable, invoice tracking, and expense coding to ensure accurate property-level financial records
• Perform general ledger transaction coding, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Monitor financial data integrity and identify discrepancies or process gaps
• Provide detailed feedback to improve property management systems and AI-driven accounting workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, product, and engineering to support accounting processes
• Maintain clear and timely communication on accounting matters, escalations, and improvements
• Assist in the analysis of financial trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or US real estate
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing, transaction coding, general ledger management, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in at least one property management accounting system (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, MRI, Buildium, PropertyWare, ResMan, RentManager)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and pivot tables
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Proactive, collaborative, and capable of providing actionable feedback for AI and system improvements
• Preferred: CPA certification or prior experience with multifamily property owners/managers
