Summary: The 20 Group Moderator for the Service and Parts Department at myKaarma will facilitate peer group collaboration, providing a platform for dealership Service and Parts leaders to share best practices, benchmark performance, and drive continuous improvement. The Moderator is responsible for expertly guiding discussions, delivering insights, and fostering an environment that supports effective peer-to-peer learning and problem-solving. This role will begin as a paid consultancy, open to evolving into a full-time leadership or program owner role at MyKaarma.

Who you are: A seasoned fixed ops leader who’s data-driven, well-respected among peers, and thrives in collaborative environments. This person has walked in the shoes of your audience (Service and Parts Directors), understands how to run a dealership department profitably, and has the presence and insight to lead productive peer discussions. Bonus points for anyone who’s already facilitated 20 Groups or similar.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate regular 20 Group meetings, ensuring productive discussions focused on Service and Parts departmental best practices, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed agendas, coordinate logistics, and manage meeting deliverables, ensuring timely and valuable interactions.
  • Analyze dealership performance data, highlighting trends, opportunities, and challenges within Service and Parts operations. Can speak to real-world impact of the platform (efficiency, CSI, revenue lift, etc.)
  • Lead discussions effectively, guiding dealership leaders to actionable insights and collaborative solutions.
  • Conduct periodic dealership visits to provide in-depth operational assessments, delivering tailored feedback and actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of automotive industry trends, technologies, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape affecting Service and Parts operations.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in automotive Service and/or Parts leadership roles (Service Manager, Parts Manager, Fixed Operations Director).
  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in dealership financial statements and performance metrics related specifically to Service and Parts.
  • Understands: Communication workflows (texting, calls), Payment processing and multipoint inspection flow, Service lane efficiency tools (scheduling, pickup/drop-off, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication abilities, including the capacity to effectively engage senior dealership management.
  • Proven ability to facilitate productive group discussions and deliver impactful presentations.
  • High travel tolerance (up to 75%) – must enjoy or be comfortable with frequent travel to dealership sites and meetings.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, automotive management, or related field.
  • Experience moderating peer groups, such as 20 Groups, OEM advisory boards, or leadership workshops.
  • Familiarity with service lane software solutions and dealership technology. Has used myKaarma firsthand in a dealership (ideal), or worked closely with teams who have. 
  • Certifications from NADA, OEM programs, or recognized dealership management training.
  • Past experience with service improvement consulting or vendor-side roles supporting dealership operations.
